Umar & Abu Bakar's plot to kill Imam Ali (a.s.)

When Fadak was forcefully usurped from Fatemah Zahra (s.a.) by the first oppressor Abu Bakr, the infallible daughter of Holy Prophet (s.a.) ordered that curtains should be put up inside the mosque.

Following which, Janabe Zahra (s.a.) entered the mosque and gave an articulate and coherent sermon. First, she (a.s.) averred the Oneness of Allah the Almighty then she spoke about Islam and its laws after which she (s.a.) started to converse on the issue of Fadak.

She (s.a.) said: “Every one is fully aware that Fadak was gifted to me by my respected father (s.a.w.a.) and it was under my possession. Therefore, on what premises has the government confiscated it?”

After her speech, Abu Bakr retorted, “We want you prove to us by producing witnesses that what you claim [that Fadak was gifted to you by The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.)]”

Ironically, in the light of Islamic laws, it is Abu Bakr who should have put forward evidence for claiming Fadak from Fatemah Zahra (s.a.). Religious rules clearly state that a thing which is already in possession of a Muslim is in itself an irrefutable evidence that the thing belongs to him/her.

On this basis, Abu Bakr and Umar ibn al-Khattab should have brought forward evidence for filching Fadak from Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).

Ameerul Momineen Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Imam Husain (a.s.) testified that Fadak was gifted to Janabe Zahra (s.a.) by her father (s.a.w.a.). The fourth witness was Umme Ayman — regarding whom Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had categorically stated that he was from among the women of paradise — and the fifth person to testify was Asma.

But Umar, rejected all the testimonies and this proves that he is far more worse than the Christians who had come to argue with the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) but ran away when they were about to be confronted by Rasul Allah (s.a.w.a.), Janabe Fatemah (s.a.), Imam Ali (a.s.), Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Imam Husain (a.s.). This incident is famous as Mubahela and has been documented in Surah Nisa.

Umar rejected Ali-e- Murtaza’a (a.s.) testimony because he felt that Imam Ali (a.s.) would be partial towards his family members. He discarded Hasnain’s (a.s.) testimony on the premises that they were still children and had not reached the age of puberty. He also found the testimonies of Umme Ayman and Asma defective, as they were women.

Imam Ali (a.s.) told Abu Bakr and Umar that asking Janabe Zahra (s.a.) to provide proof was contrary to what the Holy Quran says. Then Imam Ali (a.s.) turned towards Abu Bakr and asked, “If two people testify that Fatemah (s.a.), may Allah forbid, has committed a sin, will you accept it?

Abu Bakr replied: “Yes I will.”

Imam Ali (a.s.) said: “If you go ahead and do this then according to the Quran you are a kaafir because Allah – the Lord of the Worlds – has testified in Quran that Fatemah is Pure and Infallible:

إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا

O’ the People of (Messenger’s) Household, Allah wishes to keep away from you (all kinds) of impurities and keep you pure, as pure can be.

(Surah Ahzab: 33)

“Do you not accept Allah as a witness? And accept two common men as witness?”

At this particular juncture those present in the mosque began to weep and the collective wailing started to echo loudly.

Sensing trouble, the authorities dismissed the gathering and the people returned to their respective homes.

When Abu Bakr and Umar were left alone, the former told the latter, “Did you see how Ali insulted us?”

Umar said, “You should get Ali killed.”

Abu Bakr said, “Who can kill Ali?”

Umar said, “The most ideal person to execute this plan is Khalid ibn Waleed

(For those who aren’t aware of Khalid ibn Waleed’s atrocious resume, he was the leader of the disbelievers and reluctantly accepted Islam after Mecca was conquered. He was a ruthless despot and a confirmed rapist. His oppression reached its zenith during Abu Bakr’s reign where he massacred true believers and raped their women. Abu Bakr had a soft corner for him and even forgave him when he should have actually chopped his head off. Ironically, the Bakris have given Khalid ibn Waleed the title of Saif-ul-Islam (Sword of Islam) which is inexplicable to say the least.)

Khalid ibn Waleed was summoned and when he arrived Abu Bakr told him, “O Khalid when I am about to recite the salam in the morning prayer, you kill Ali.”

Abu Bakr’s wife Asma, who is counted amongst the shias of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) overheard the conversation and duly informed Imam Ali (a.s.) of the evil plot through her slave.

Imam Ali (a.s.) replied to her that these people weren’t capable of harming him and when the morning arrived, Khalid ibn Waleed picked his sword and sat himself next to Imam Ali (a.s.) in the mosque.

While performing the salah (Namaz) when Abu Bakr reached Tasshahud he started to develop cold feet with regards to his evil design and he thought that killing Imam Ali (a.s.) in the mosque may only lead to a riot and put him in trouble.

He was so embarrassed with his satanic scheme that he elongated his Tasshahud that the sun was almost about to come out. Left with no choice he was forced to say in his prayer, “O Khalid! Don’t carry out my orders,” after which he said salam and concluded his prayers.

After the prayers, Imam Ali (a.s.) turned towards Khalid and asked him, “What did Abu Bakr asked you to do?”

Khalid replied, “He had asked me to kill you.”

Imam Ali (a.s.) asked him, “Did you really intend to kill me?”

Khalid replied, “Yes”.

Imam Ali (a.s.) grabbed Khalid ibn Waleed’s neck in such a way that the wretched tyrant started wheezing and no one in the mosque dared to stop Imam Ali (a.s.) and save Khalid from him.

Abu Bakr turned towards Umar ibn al-Khattab and said, “This all because of your wretched plans, go call Abbas so that he requests Ali to let Khalid go.”

When Abbas came, Imam Ali (a.s.), out of respect towards his uncle, let his hands off the despicable Khalid.

  2. Mr. Zubair Chachar,
Khalid bin Waleed was the leader of enemies in the battle of Ohud. He was responsible for the killing of so many muslims in that battle.
After accepting Islam, he remained the arch enemy of Holy Prophet(sawa) and his Ahle Bayt(as).
He hid his faith and remained hypocrite till the death of Holy Prophet(sawa).
During the Khilafat of Abu Bakr, his enmity against muslims was exposed once again. He killed a companion of Prophet(sawa) and slept with his wife the same night.
When the case was brought before Abu Bakr, he left him and did not punish him for his crime.
All these things are found in many reputed sunni books. Go and do some research.
We dont talk without sufficient proofs.
And go and refer any of our post on this site. Its full of references from sunni sources.
So, now its your turn to show us the proof if you are truthful

  3. What a load of shia shit.. Only an idiot would believe this crap..

  4. Dear Paknaz,
This is not a load of shia shit. Ok if you deny this incident. What about the incident of burning the door of Fatema Zehra(as) by Umar and his goons??
Is it also a Shia Shit ??
How come this incident of door burning found in many sunni books??
You must accept in the light of true historical facts that the relation between Fatema(AS) and Abu Bakr was not good. And Fatima was angry on Abu Bakr and Umar in the matter of Fidak. Ali(as) was forced to pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr and he was dragged from his house. Ali(AS) did not pick the sword in the interest of Islam. All these things are found in reliable sunni and shia books. What do you say now ??
How come this 'shit' entered your books ???

  5. What a load of rubbish. If you did ur research youd see ali had sons called abu bakr umar and uthman. His daughter umm kulthum married umar. As for dragging ali from his house and accusing umar of murdering fatimah... what a load of crap!!!!!!!

This is the same ali who killed marhab, amr ibn abu wud at khandaq, lifted the gate of khaibar by himself and yet he did nothing when the above happened???

Use your head! !!! U are insulting the lion of allah!!!

  6. It is not a load of rubbish when it is found in numerous Shia sunni books. Ali(AS) did not name his sons due to his love of Umar and Abu Bakr. These names were common names in those days and were not unique.
Ali(AS) did not marry his daughter to Umar. This is a propaganda done by our Sunni brothers to uplift the status of Umar and to prove that he had good relations with Ali.
The detail reply you would found in our other posts. Please click on the Complete Index(Blog) link on the right hand side of the website and visit the related posts on this matter. We have proved from sunni sources that such a marriage didnt take place.
We are not accusing Umar for murdering Fatimah. The incident of burning of door of Fatima is found in your reference books. It is a established fact accepted by all unbiased historians.
Now the question : Why Ali(AS) did not kill Umar for murdering his wife ??
To know the reason please go and read the incidents which took place immediately after the demise of Holy Prophet(SAWA).
Read how Umar and Abu Bakr gathered at Saqifa and how Abu BAkr was elected, and how other Arabs accepted him his Caliph.
Read , Why Arabs did not support Imam Ali(AS) and how Ali(AS) was left alone ?
Read ,Why And How Umar and Abu Bakr forced Imam Ali for pledge of allegiance.
Yes , It was easy for Imam Ali to overcome these forces but since Imam Ali was left alone and all the tribes sided with the new Caliph. In such a situation if Imam had fought it would have resulted in Civil war among the companions of Prophet(SAWA) which would have given an easy opportunity for Romans and other enemies of Islam to attack muslims.
Now the next question which you may asked : why majority left Ali(AS). ??
It was because of tribal enmity among the newly converted Muslims whose one of the other champions had been killed by Imam Ali(AS) in Holy War.
Since Umar and Abu Bakr had not killed any Kuffar in battlefield, they were easily accepted by new Muslim tribes of Medina.

  7. Remaining quiet and not taking revenge against the injustice done to him and his wife Fatima , for the sake of Islam and for the survival of new Islamic State is not at all an insult for the lion of Allah , Imam Ali(AS).

He was a true divine leader and divine leaders do not act emotionally. They see what is good for the DEEN and what Allah wants from them and then they acts accordingly.

  8. Imam Ali killed Marhab at khaybar ,Amr ibn abu wud at khandaq, lifted the gate of khaibar by himself and save Islam.
Whom did Umar and Abu BAkr killed in the Holy War??? OR what have the done for Islam ??
Then how come these people who have not done anything worth during the lifetime of Prophet(SAWA) become the most superior companions and eligible for the post of Khilafat ???
While Ali(AS) who had helped Holy Prophet(SAWA) and saved Prophet(SAWA) from kuffar and single handedly killed the giants of Kuffar , all of a sudden became inferior to Umar and Abu Bakr who had not done anything significant for Islam???

It is not a conspiracy ???

    What a joke!!!

Now its the time for you to Think and Use your head!!!

  9. moslems should read their reference book meticulously and with deep awareness.
moslems should use their brain, not brawn and make any brawl.
it is really clear who Ali, who Fathimah in many hadits/speech of the prophet.
it is been told in history, how 'Ali fight the kuffar in many battle field.
It is well known already, the praise of Gibrail to 'Ali echoing from the sky in Uhud Battle field :
"La fataa illa 'Ali, laa Saifa illa Dzulfiqar" (No man youth like "ali, no sword like Dzulfiqar)

please kindly use brain, not brawn.

  10. Our Sunni brothers think that they are going right , we are in the wrong way so I will ask one Question if you say that Sunnis are the real followers of Islam then why do they don't go to the Shrine of Hazrat Imam Hussain (a.s) we Shias go to Makkah for Hajj and also to the Shrine of Hazrat Imam Hussain (a.s) .
Once my Sunni friend it was his brothers marriage he went to take the girl from her home and when they were coming back to home they were stopped in the way by the Police Officers till 2 or nearly 3 hours because the Zawaraan e Imam Hussain (a.s) was going to the Shrine of Hazrat Imam Hussain (a.s) he got angry and saying what kind of people they are saying bad things .
Now I will ask is it your love for the one who had Saved Our Precious Religion Islam ?
You all think just of yourself .
    Read the Holy Qur'an .

  12. With the name of Allah the Almighty and Rahman wo Raheem!
After the Prophet Mohammad (saw), there is no one but only Ali A.s, having greatest statute. And neutral history clearly indicates the wrong and unjustice done to Ali and His holy family after Prophet. But if we read individually others they have also played significant roles in their parts. Its true they will ultimately be emerged as on wrong side in case of Maula Ali but still they have digniy in other mattera and applied themselves positively in most of matters. Khalid bin Walid never played actively in Madina's politics and ironically was also a victim of Umar ra's wrath and( may Allah forgive me if i am harsh) somewhat jealousy. So he even left Madina when was disposed by Umar while in Qanissareen (syria, byzantine rome). Khalid was a fighter and truely sword of Allah against appostates and Enemies and followed the orders like a true soldier with letter and spirit. So my dears it would be more convenient for all of us if we study the characters as per their applications in matters rather than their mutual conflicts as we all knew well the history (but a neutral mind is demanded). Secodnly we must use good words while arguing or discussing anything. I will not write more as rest have knowledge more authentic than me. JazakAllah.

  13. You should be shameful as you have tried to defame the companions of PROPHET P.B.U.H. all what you tried to depic above is jus LIES with no references other then your own delusions. As we know very well that each and every action of HAZRAT MUHAMMAD P.B.U.H was to be in the light of commands of ALMIGHTY GOD. So why would my beloved prophet asked Abu Bakr R.A to lead the prayers when HE P.B.U.H himself was not able to lead. Such Was the rank of Hazrat Abu Bakr R.A. and if we ( نا اعوذبالله من ذالك ) confirm your report then it would be like ( نا اعوذبالله من ذالك ) suspecting the actions of HOLLY PROPHET!
And as for HAZRAT UMAR P.B.U.H is concerned, he is the man for whom PROPHET MUHAMMAD P.B.U.H asked GOD to give islam strength by making UMAR R.A muslim(مراد رسول صلى). He is one for whom PROPHET P.B.U.H been roporting," if there has to come any Prophet after me than it has to be UMER R.A). He was the one named الفاروق-distinguisher beteen right and wrong! And many more incidents yet to count on. And again if to we confirm your reports then again it would be like (نا اعوذبالله من ذالك ) to astray and retain the Actions of prophet p.b.u.h.
And as for HAZRAT KHALID BIN WALEED R.A. , he is one of greatest and bravest commander muslim army ever had. And he is one to be named سيف الله-sword of ALLAH by Prophet P.b.u.h.
So all i have say at the end that if you take your whole life to write such ambiguous articles, it would not affect the ranks, respect, blessing, glory and IMAN even a tiny teeny bit!
SO please do repent and never ever write things without stern and authentic reports. Even if you analyzing the lives of companion do have an unbiased approach in your thinking and humble and pios comments in your writings!
    JazzakAllah-Huma khaira,Ameen!

  14. Dear Brother Shafaq Ali,
I can show u several proofs from your books wherein it is written clearly that many prominent companions of d Prophet (s.a.w.a) had disobeyed d orders of Prophet (s.a.w.a). For e.g. in d battle of Uhud many Companions disobeyed d Prophet and later on ran away leaving the Prophet alone. Many Companions disobeyed d Prophet's order by not joining d Osama's Army. Last but d least Umar disobeyed d Prophet by not providing him pen and paper and doubted d Prophet's brain....
Do you want me to still believe in d piousness of such companions ????
Inspite of these clear and indisputable historical facts????
Do you still believe Prophet (s.a.w.a) would have awarded them with the title of Siddique ,Farooq and Ghani ????
Their behaviour with the Prophet clearly proves that they disobeyed d prophet many times and Prophet was not happy with them.
During d time of Banu Umayya many false and fake traditions were introduced in your books to justify d caliphate of first 3 caliphs because their Caliphate is neither from Allah or His Prophet.
We shias are d followers of Ali who was appointed by Prophet in Ghadeer. Abu Bakr and Umar took d opportunity of d demise of Prophet when everyone were in masjid busy in d funeral of Prophet, they ran to Saqifa to wrest the Caliphate from d Ansars. All these are found in history books and cannot be denied by any researcher.

  15. Dear Israr minhas,
How could it be bull shit when the conflicts between Sahabas are found in Shia-Sunni History book ???
Can can u deny the facts that battle of Jamal (Camel) took place between Aisha and Hazrat Ali ??
Have u not seen in your Bukhari that Hazrat Fatema(a.s) demanded Fadak and Abu Bakr denied him by quoting a fake Tradition of Prophet(s.a.w.a) ????
U people respect Muawiya who was the cause of a long battle of siffin with Hazrat Ali (a.s).
We shias are very clear in this matter. We respect only those people who were faithful to Prophet (s.a.w.a) and his family.
Sahabas Khilafat is neither from Allah and nor by His Prophet(s.a.w.a) so your argument that they were selected by Allah is null and void.
Allah's Lanat is on the hypocrites those who trouble Prophet(s.a.w.a), according to Quran.
