Question :
Sunnis always ask: If Umar and Abu Bakr were hypocrites(as Shias believe) Why did Prophet remain patient with Abu Bakr and Umar all throughout his life and did not kill them?
Answer :
In His Name the Most High,
All praise is due to Allah, may peace be upon Muhammed and his pure progeny and may the curse of Allah be upon their enemies.

The Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) replied to this question himself as he said in more than one occasion: “So that people would not say that Muhammad kills his companions”.
One of these occasions was when they attempted to assassinate the Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) on his way back from the city of Tabuk. As the Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) had to go past a rough road up a mountain, which was called al-Aqaba, Abu Bakr and Umar conspired with a group of the Prophet’s hypocrite companions lain in wait for the Prophet at the time of his crossing the Aqaba to frighten his camel so that he would fall off it and die.
The Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) knew exactly at that time all those who had attempted to kill him, and when he was asked: “Why do you not kill them?” He replied: “So that people would not say that Muhammad kills his companions”.
This fact was reported by the Sunni resources in clear terms, but the Sunnis try to hide and deny it. In fact one would ask, According to their logic, why did the Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) not kill the hypocrites in Madinah such as Abdullah Ibn Abi Ibn Saloul!?! Especially that they (i.e. the Sunnis) believe him to be the leader of hypocrites in Madinah!?!
