Umar seriously wanted to kill Imam Ali (AS) - Sunni References
Interesting, Second Caliph Umar wanted to kill Imam Ali. Imam Ali says you
want to kill a servant of Allah and brother of Holy Prophet. Second
Caliph was not moved. Ask permission from first Caliph. He refuses only
because Hazrath Fatima is on Ali side. Reported from Ahlul Sunnah book,
