Mr. Umar killed his son, murdered his daughter, his personality was very terrorizing. This incident is a proof of that. And this is from a sunni source.
And the issue of the knowledge of Quran to H. Ali (a) before being revealed to holy Prophet (s) is nothing difficult to understand. Read carefully :
قال العجلوني(827) : رواه عبد الرزاق بسنده عن جابر بن عبد الله بلفظ قال : قلت : يا رسول الله بأبي أنت وأمي أخبرني عن أول شيء خلقه الله قبل الأشياء ، قال : (( يا جابر إن الله تعالى خلق قبل الأشياء نور نبيك ... )) .
At other place the Holy Prophet says :
روي بعدة ألفاظ، وهذا نص رواية واحدة عند ابن المغازلي الشافعي : ((كنت أنا وعلي نور واحد بين يدي الله عزوجل، يسبح الله ذلك النور ويقدسه قبل أن يخلق الله آدم بألف عام، فلما خلق الله آدم ركب ذلك النور في صلبه، فلم يزل في شيء واحد حتى افترقنا في صلب عبدالمطلب، ففي النبوة وفي علي الخلافة )).
